  1. OK for me there is no problem with this stuff
loaded within my DNS-325 GUI interface. It’s not necessary to revert to factory settings default after this new update.

  2. Hi, i have problem with dns325. I have dvb tuner with Enigma2 Linux and i’m trying mount folder from dns325 using this command: mount -t cifs //192.168.1.2/club -o username=quest, password= /mnt/cifs [club] is public folder with no password and contain ~50 movies 600mb. My 3 PC with windows7 mounting this share without problems and Enigma2 mounting resources from each of these pc without problems but from dns325 doesn’t work.
When i’m trying mount resources from dns325 on my dvb i got this error: failed: cannot allocate memory and in dns325 log:

Jan 24 23:01:40 CIFS: [192.168.1.8] connected to [CLUB] as user [nobody].
Jan 24 23:01:40 CIFS: Authentication for user [quest] has FAILED.

Plz check this thread, my problem is similar:

    http://superuser.com/questions/117773/network-shares-do-not-mount

There is something like: IRPStackSize but dns325 doesn’t allow change this… Maybe the issue is somewhere else?

  3. HI

U can try this to mount a windows network shared ressource
with a DNS 325 Dlink Nas

    mount -t cifs //your_nas_ip_adresse/your_shared_ressource_name /mnt/HD/HD_a2/mounted_point
    -o user=window_user-name_machine

    ex :
    mount -t cifs //192.168.0.3/SONGS
    /mnt/HD/HD_a2/SHARE
    -o user=athon34

    then

    umount /mnt/HD/HD_a2/SHARE

  4. Thx for reply and sory for my bad english.

Thx for example but problem still exists :/

I’m wondering why when i try mount in NAS log is:

15:22:14 CIFS: [192.168.1.8] connected to [public] as user [nobody].

Why [nobody] ? In mount i was typing -o user=quest

In next line is [quest] so why [nobody] is first?
Jan 25 15:22:14 CIFS: Authentication for user [quest] has FAILED.

Currently i’m using NFS to mounting shares on my dvb reciever but i would like to know why CIFS doesn’t work correct :/

My DVB(DreamBox) mounting (CIFS) Windows shares correct but from D-LINK no succes :/

  5. Hello,

I have a DNS-325 with 1.02 installed and squeeze server. everything worked fine. Scanned my Music (about 40.000 Tracks) and seems to work, but is being canceled because the step with the covers cannot be started. But the databases are there (checked in db-folder) and the player can play my music. BUT: When I restart the NAS, the database is flushed and the whole Music directory is refilled again. Does anyone know how to keep the DB persistent?

  6. Can anyone walk me through step-by-step of the procedure how to install Pyload on the DNS-325? I’ve tried so many attemps and fail to login as root user and not able to install Optware package. A step-by-step for dummies like me, is appreciated, thanks.

  7. Hi everybody.
Does firmware 1.02 work for european versions of DNS-325? D-Links says at their web that “Using this firmware on a device outside of North America will void your warranty and may render the device unusable.” Somebody tested it?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Worked fine for me, buyed at Amazon so I guess it’s the EU model.

BTW it came with a fw 1.01 with different date as the firmware 1.01b (that appears on dlink.es) as default for this device.

Dlink is not taking so much care to cover all their customers… that sucks.

Anyway, 1.02 working fine for now, I’ll notice if I’ll get any warning. Anyway I will void the warranty when I install the fun_plug so…

  8. Yes, I did it. It works fine, but I find that the NAS runs a little bit slower than before (it could be just an impression).
