One of the new features of the fun_plug 0.7 is the possiblity to add multiple locations of the packages for the fun_plug 0.7. Although this looks nice, i wanted to see that automated. So i wrote uwsiteloader which first gets a definition-file which is then presented nicely to the user in the console. This will not work in other versions of FFP than 0.7! Werbung
How is it installed?
wget http://wolf-u.li/u/441 -O /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh chmod a+x /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh
To update the site-definitions, run uwsiteloader.sh
:
uwsiteloader.sh
How does to tool look like?
If you have a site that you want to see added here, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Where is LFTP? 🙂

I have been trying this a couple of days now mate, is you host down?
Chris
do I need to install any fft package before run this shell?
Hello coste,
seems to be something in the shell, please try again. I’ve changed the scipt a little 🙂
Best Regards,
Uli
yes, removing the lines function… works!
But now I got an error on
wget -nv http://wolf-u.li/u/439 -O $TMPFILE1
because wget @ BusyBox v1.12.1 does not accept -nv
I replaced it with -q
Error again! may be de to missing /ffp/etc/ffp-version ?
How did you delete /ffp/etc/ffp-version?
Same problem as coste above – no /ffp/etc/ffp-version. I guess it should be a simple file FFP_ARCH=arm or oarm. How do I find out which? for a DNS-325?
Thanks for you wonderful work here!
Heres another one, Uli. I can’t find ‘slacker’ to get the upgraded list?
Are you on FFP 0.7?
Pretty awesome!
Thanks for coding and sharing this!
Hi Uli,
May I ask, do you have a guide to install Transmissions on DNS320? If you do, can you point me to it?
Hi,
I got this error: FATAL: Missing config file: /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
inside /ffp/etc/funpkg/, i got the following:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 353 Jan 22 21:37 dist.rules
-rw-r–r– 1 root root 1 Jul 17 01:48 sites.bak
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 102 Jan 22 21:37 slacker.conf
how should i rectify the error?
i got the same problem like chengsun.
Now nothing works anymore. Done these commands:
wget http://wolf-u.li/u/441 -O /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh
chmod a+x /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh
and then run the shell and loaded the repos.
in order of this i want to type slacker -u and now i got this error (tested on 2 dns323 with fonz funplug o.7
FATAL: Missing config file: /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
How can i repair slacker? Slacker didnt work anymore 🙁
I’ve got this problem too. Any solutions to repair slacker? No commands works anymore 🙁
Updatelist was loaded and the slacker -u command doesnt worked in addition
error: FATAL: Missing config file: /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
sorry for double post. the browser was be crazy ….
I’ve added that failsafe to the script.
I got the above message. but after I manually downloaded and run slacker -U was working fine.
but still no luck. see below
Getting the same error for Mijzelf, Kylek, and Memiks even though if I try to access through a webserver, the CHECKSUMS.md5 files all exist.
No idea what is going wrong here?
HI,
I have this in my ffp.log and i cant access to my dns 323.

Hi there,
I have DNS-320L and am kinda new to this topic.
I have downloaded recommended ffp from here ssh, and now trying to follow this tutorial to get hand on some packages I need, like mysql for use with multiple instances of digikam on my Kubuntu-based pcs & laptops.
My uw site loader was running, but saying: cat: can’t open ‘/ffp/etc/ffp-version’: No such file or directory, then running again – exporting everything ok from HOME to USER (root), but then started saying: sh: =: argument expected (11 times). It finally finished with: Error, Selection aborted, program exits without modifications to /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
and
Something is wrong! Will revert config file.
mv: cannot rename ‘/ffp/etc/funpkg/sites.bak’: No such file or directory
Thanks for using UW Site Loader!
on the end.
Please, can anyone help? I am am totally lost and can do nothing…
Where did you execute the uwsiteloader? On you local pc or on the NAS?
Best Regards,
Uli
I was connected to the NAS through ssh as a root. I had followed guide from the link I mentioned in my first message, to install ffp on my NAS & to create root login. Everything work well, so later I only flashed the last stable official version of firmware, but again, my ssh login was still active after that. I had a look in the etc folder, and I think, I am missing /ffp-version & /sites folders completely. I do not know, how this could happen and if there is any fix for that. I have followed your guide and with help of wget I downloaded the uwsiteloader and the executed the script, but you can see the output…
I really appreciate your help!
Hi there,
I am just wondering, if this forum is still moderated. I had a question recently & still waiting for an answer. Do not know, if my problem can be fixed, so I can’t take any action… Thanks a lot!
Sid
Some people just go on vacation without telling on their website 😉 I will answer as soon as possible 😉
Best Regards,
Uli
Hi there
Am having the same problem as above…. I think this is recent as I didn’t encounter this before. I’m a DNS320 user here.
Cheers
I encountered the same problem today, someone knows how to solve?
Thanks
Could you post the complete output of a uwsiteloader.sh execution?
Thanks in advance!
I get the same issue, here is what I get….
When executing wget http://wolf-u.li/u/441 -O /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh nothing happens. Simply returns a blank new line but does not download anything.
What could I be doing wrong?
Regarding another matter, I found openvpn server for FFP 0.5 here: http://ffp.wolf-u.li/additional/net-misc/ but cannot find it for 0.7. Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
Hi Phobz,
is your internet connection working properly? Other than that: is the file maybe already downloaded?
Regarding openvpn: I will check if i could compile that for the 0.7.
Best Regards,
Uli
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Yes, my internet connection is working fine. I was able to download random files from here http://ffp.wolf-u.li/additional/net-misc/ with no problem. But not from http://wolf-u.li/u/441
The openvpn server compiled for 0.7 would be very helpful! For me it is the main reason to install FFP on the NAS, since I am abroad and want to access content only available in my home country.
Thanks again for your time.
Best regards.
Neat site Uli,
I have 2 DNS-320L* NAS working fine. I have FW 1.3 (beta).
1. What is the difference to the DNS-320** (without the L) except the looks and inside perhaps? It seems completely different, but FW & system could be the same. Could the FW for the DNS-320 also run on the DNS-320L?
2. I installed ffp0.7 successfully, and updated with uwsiteloader.
3. Is anyone using the DNS-320L and is NAS-tweaks.net covering it somewhere? I found one entry mentioning it as a newer system than the DNS-320, and one here by sidney on 25. December 2013 at 5:44.
4. Is NAS-Tweaks still active? Most posts are over one year old, with 2013 only 6 entries. Is there an alternative if there is not much activity here any more? I use the German site** as well, but no DNS-320L there either. Is this site just a translation of German site, and when, are both up to date? Which one is best and most up to date to use?

Hi Dru,
I bought my 320L just before Christmas and right away I saw it need some work… because of very little experience (even when running (K)Ubuntu for a years 🙂 ) I subscribed into this forum, searching for some help. Because it seemed to be not very up-to-date one, I had to learn myself, and I have managed ffp 0.7 with mysql running, but I have some issues with running mc, so after having another look around, I found this forum just yesterday and I hope I will get some help from there: http://forum.dsmg600.info/index.php
Hope you find good response from there as well. Otherwise, based on my own findings, DNS-320L seems to have CPU 1Ghz/800Mhz on DNS-320; and 256Mb of RAM – compare to 128 on DNS-320. Hope I am right… but still I am surprised how few people are having this newer device – thought it is still not very new anyway… and to mention, I have upgraded the 1.3 firmware too. No probs there at all.
Say if you need anything else, but my knowledge is not very broad 🙂
Cheers, Sid
Hi Dru,
to be honest not much has changed in the world of NAS over the past 5 years. The manufacturers still provide pretty old hardware with the same specifications with the same mechanism. THerefore there were not many new entries. Unfortunately i am not getting paid to provide this – neither on wolf-u.li (my german page) nor on nas-tweaks.net :/ Both should provide the same content (question 4) – if not then please bump me. Whatever fits your language should be used.
Regarding the DNS-320L: I will have to take a look as soon as possible but to me it seems as if this device is more or less compatible to what i have got already on this page. Maybe a path has changed and of course the hardware is newer, but in the end it is still a ARM-Device which is capable of fun_plug.
Hope this helps. Best Regards,
Uli

chmod a + x / ffp / bin / uwsiteloader.sh
uwsiteloader.sh

4-lighttpd + php
cp / ffp / etc / examples / lighttpd.conf / ffp / etc /
cp / ffp / etc / examples / php.ini / ffp / etc /

no visible index.php
I need to install other packages with slacker
because it does not work index.php?

Hallo Uli,
Have questions:
1) I use a conceptronics ch3hnas for which a funplug version by conceptronics exists. It’s installed and works but I can find “Slacker” when I run your script it’s not working 🙁
2) The http://www.inreto.de site seems to be down for a while. It’s therefore not possible anymore to get version 0.7. Do you know an alternative download adress?
3) if on my funplug I can’t use the latest automate method to install packages how can I find the funpkg packages as this one is on my system? All links I found for are sending back to http://www.inreto.de
Thanks by advance
Paul
Hi Paul,
the CH3HNAS uses a different architecture than all other devices – therefore this is not possible to use with ffp0.7 or with its slacker-tool. Sorry to say that :/
The only source for CH3HNAS-packages that i know of is henkjan. Hope this helps you!
Best Regards,
Uli
Hi Uli,
Thanks for your replies to my questions.
I have sorted my issue with hfp. Had to reinstall from scratch [ remove the disck from NAS; format it; restart NAS, add fun_plug from conceptronics again, reboot, then install hfp as explained on: HFP setup choose this time to have HFP defined exactly as on screenshot on page and have all the apps integrated to hfp.
This seems indeed the best solution for getting my webserver up with mysql php and lighttpd.
My problem was on HFP that mysql and other tools were not present on my first try out.
Thanks for your help and your great work on this.
Regards
Paul

What is that ?
Hello guys:)
I have a pb
It seems that for me it is impossible to choose any otherwites than fonz.
When I do ./uwsiteloader.sh
I only have a [*] next to fonz
and nothing next to the others.
So I said to myself either I didn’t understand how to choose a site (possible I’m far from an expert ^^)
Or I only have this choice and then it is problematic because fonz (inretod.de) seems to be down… 🙁
thanks in advance for any help 🙂
Navigate the rows using your arrow keys. Mark as active using the space bar 🙂

Uli
Just to inform that i succesfully installed funplug 0.7 on my Dlink DNS 320LW.
Everything works!
Very good work!
tnx!
Hi!
I am logged in as an admin and I got this message. Should I login as a root, or where can be a problem?
I am running NSA 325, PuTTY, W 8.1
Looks to me as if your rights are not sufficient. You need to login as root.

While trying
root@dlink-3B663E:/# uwsiteloader.sh
I get
ERROR: cannot verify wolf-u.li’s certificate, issued by `/C=US/O=Let\’s Encrypt/CN=Let\’s Encrypt Authority X1′:

and the update fails.
What do I need to do to get it to work? Edit the script and add ‘–no-check-certificate’?
Hi Johan,
yes, try that.
Best Regards,
Uli
I edited the script in one row only, it now reads
wget –no-check-certificate http://wolf-u.li/u/439 -O $TMPFILE1
After this the script works without problem.
Hi,
It doesn’t seem to be working… I get an error running uwsiteloader.sh
Please check your internet connection, cannot proceed!
Seems that something changed…
Hi Uli,
I have a problem using uwsiteloader.sh. The error means: Downloading definitions failed, please check your internet connection.
A ping and ownCloud are working on my Zyxel NAS 540. Connection seems to be ok. Any idea what happens?
Best Regards,
Mark
the same thing “Downloading definitions failed, please check your internet connection.”
Mark & flavius,
Edit the uwsiteloader.sh file and change the text in line 37

Hi John,
I can’t find the file. I can execute it but I can’t find it on my 540. I am logged in as “root” and “find / uwsiteloader.sh” shows no result. Any idea what goes wrong?
Regards,
Mark
I found it but it still does not work.
Have to be “admin” not “root”. That works! Thanks John!
Hello,
Where do you find it and how do you edit it ?
Thanks
Hi Uli,
Previously I had the DNS-320. Fun well established and it worked. Who changed the NAS on the DNS-320L and faced such a problem when trying to download any file from wolf-u.li site says that there is no Internet. And the site is pinged with NAS, but in general any site pings. If I link to download the file is copied into a browser, the file is copied to your computer perfectly. Here are copied, which is written in the terminal:

Your error message
> To connect to wolf-u.li insecurely, use `–no-check-certificate’
and a previous reply from February 18, 2016 at 06:17 above gives you a hint

Try:
root@MEDIAZONE:~# wget –no-check-certificate http://wolf-u.li/u/441 -O /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh
root@MEDIAZONE:~# wget –no-check-certificate http://wolf-u.li/u/441 -O /ffp/bin/uwsiteloader.sh
Here a small mistake before the “no-check-certificate” must be two “–” and then everything works. 🙂
Thanks for the help
Guys, use this commands to download packages since 2018
No need to used –no-check-certificate
echo “check_certificate = off” >> ~/.wgetrc
echo “check_certificate = off” >> ~/.curlrc
try `–no-check-certificate’
If it doesn`t work you can download packages manually an put them on the nas. (first choise didn`t work for me so i used the second option)
# echo “mijzelf http://downloads.zyxel.nas-central.org/Users/Mijzelf/FFP-Stick/packages/0.7/arm” >> /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
# echo “memiks http://ffp.memiks.fr/pkg” >> /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
# echo “kylek http://kylek.is-a-geek.org:31337/files/ffp/0.7-arm” >> /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites
# echo “uli rsync://funplug.wolf-u.li/funplug/0.7/arm/packages” >> /ffp/etc/funpkg/sites

Downloading definitions Failed, please check your internet connection!
Hi – this message is what I get today.
Downloading definitions Failed, please check your internet connection!
However my internet is fine, the box can ping sites like google.com etc.
Strangely I can download the file from http://wolf-u.li/u/439 manually. Not sure what’s up, but there is one package I’d like to install now which I know is on a repo I don’t have selected.
Dear Uli,
I wrote an e-mail for You. Can You please take a look at it?
Many thanks!

ouch now I see the error. My fault! I am using 0.5 and your instructions are for 0.7
Any way, I somehow solved the situation executing:

Thanks for this Luis very helpful
toda i was unable to use your script. after some testing i learned that your site is now reachable under https and http is redirected. in order to download the definitions you have to add ” –no-check-certificate” to the wget call inside the script.
wget –no-check-certificate http://wolf-u.li/u/439 -O $TMPFILE1
Hi Sir,
I facing “Please check your internet connection, cannot proceed” problem when I run “uwsiteloader.sh”.
I have checked my router and my DNS-320. There is no blocking of internet to DNS-320.
Please help with advise.
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Sean
Hi Uli,
When I run uwsiteloader.sh I get Download Failed check internet message. Obviously there is nothing wrong with my internet connection.
Same here!!
Hi, I solved this problem. In file uwsiteloader.sh substitute the line
wget -nv http://wolf-u.li/u/439 -O $TMPFILE1
with
curl -k -L http://wolf-u.li/u/439 -o $TMPFILE1
and re-execute it.
Explanation: in the uwsiteloader.sh, the command “wget -nv http://wolf-u.li/u/439” returns an error due to “-n” parameter, unknow in this version of wget. Try to fix using wget with
wget –no-check-certificate http://wolf-u.li/u/439
but with no luck, returns Segmentation fault (maybe due to busybox version of wget?). So I decided to use curl, that seems to work.
The next command
slacker -U
return a similar error during the checksum, still related to wget. Any suggestion to really fix it?
Bye
update: to fix the slacker update error, do the following steps:
backup slacker
cp /ffp/bin/slacker /ffp/bin/slacker.back
now modify slacker and replace the line
cmd_=”(cd ‘$dst_’; wget -Nnv ‘$url_/$path_’)”
with
cmd_=”(cd ‘$dst_’; curl ‘$url_/$path_’)”
now everything seems to work correctly.
UPDATE: use this command (with the right curl parameters)
cmd_=”(cd ‘$dst_’; curl -O -s ‘$url_/$path_’)”
Thank’s a lot for the support! I’ll try it oday :)!
Don’t know why but I did not received your update on my email, and just check today if there was some update on this subject
So.. I solved my with one of your ideias, to add –no-check-certificate to wget command.
However some http servers are offline I’m currently using just the rsync servers.
Mijzelf and Memiks are down.
