  • The factory default of the network connection is DHCP, so the default ip-address differs from network to network. Perhaps we could mention the "EasySearch"-Tool where the ip-address is shown (or am I wrong?). Uli 07:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
    • I have never used EasySearch, but yes, it is for installation of the network setting. PeterH 08:06, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Changes on inreto.de Aug 20: -- Fonz
    • description of fun_plug script: also runs /mnt/HD_a2/.bootstrap/setup.sh, /ffp/etc/fun_plug.init (ffp-scripts package), and /ffp/etc/fun_plug.local
    • ffp.log does not longer contain list of unpacked files
    • "after connecting to the device": prompt should be / # now (instead of /mnt/HD_a2 #)
  • a note on shadow passwords: -- Fonz
    • echo '...' >>/etc/shadow is obsolete since inclusion of the shadow package, use pwconv instead, also run pwck (to check for duplicate ftp user)
    • I will add the necessary changes as soon as I test the new version of fun_plug (preference to call the new fun_plug something different than v0.5 to avoid confusion ;-) PeterH 11:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
      • changes made for updated fun_plug 0.5 (needs checking) PeterH 22:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
        • passwd/pwconv: I meant to run pwconv before passwd. Not sure if it really works the other way round when 'root' is not yet present in shadow. --Fonz 06:48, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
    • Fixed, thanks! Uli 08:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

fun_plug not installing?

  • After I have Place a copy of both files (fun_plug and fun_plug.tgz) in the topmost directory of Volume_1 and rebooted the unit(dns-323) the fun_plug.tgz tarball does not disapear and no ffp directory or log file are created?... What am I doing wrong? thank you Bob
    • Please place such Questions in our Forums. Just a hint: Place everything on Volume_2, sometimes these two get scrambled. Uli 17:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
